Orthopedic surgery is a branch of surgery that deals with diseases connected to the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Orthopedic surgeons specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of injuries, illnesses, and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains, arthritis, degenerative joint disease, and congenital or acquired deformities can all be treated with orthopedic surgery.
