Diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system—which consists of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves—are treated by the surgical specialty of orthopedic Surgery. The diagnosis, management, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders, injuries, and diseases are the areas of expertise for orthopedic surgeons. Orthopedic Surgery can be used to treat congenital or acquired abnormalities, arthritis, degenerative joint disease, sprains, strains, fractures, and dislocations. The following orthopedic surgeries will be covered in future sessions.
