Dental anesthesia is the use of drugs to numb the region around a tooth or a group of teeth before dental treatments. Local anesthetic, which is provided by injection into the gums, is the most frequent kind of dental anesthetic. Additional forms of dental anesthesia include general anesthesia, which includes delivering medicine that causes the patient to lose consciousness and feel no pain, and sedation anesthesia.
