Geriatric anesthesia is the delivery of anesthesia to elderly patients, generally those aged 65 and up. People's bodies undergo age-related changes as they age, including changes in organ function such as the heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver. These alterations can have an impact on how the body handles anesthetics, increasing the risk of problems during and after surgery. The following session will discuss the optimization and management of geriatric anesthesia. The recent research is postoperative cognitive dysfunction in geriatric patients.
